Write at least one paragraph about your Easter break. Choose one event that was significant and focus your paragraph on that. "I didn't do anything over break" will not qualify as a blog post. You need to write at least one paragraph.

Pick a Pet

If you could have any kind of animal as a pet, what would it be? Explain how you would take care of it, and tell how your parents would react to you having this animal as a pet. [You can't choose an animal you already have.]

For this week's writing prompt, you will get to choose between three different prompts. They are:

1. Respond to the prompt on this image:

2. Imagine that you had to go to a deserted island for a week. In addition to food, shelter, and other necessities that will be provided, you are allowed to take three personal items. What would they be? Explain the reasons for your choices.

3. Free Post. Write a paragraph or more about any topic of your choosing. This could be a post about your favorite hobby, a book or movie you want to recommend, something fun you did recently, or your thoughts on something you read in the newspaper recently. The choice is yours. Please remember that all posts should be school-appropriate.

Think about the last time you attended a special event such as a concert, a fair, or a sports event. Describe what it was like to be there and include sights, sounds, and smells that will make the reader feel he or she is there with you.

Three Wishes

You have just been granted three wishes that must be used in one twenty-four hour period. How do you use your wishes? What do you wish for? What makes you wish for these things?

Oh, and by the way...one of your wishes can't be to wish for more wishes!

In Stargirl, by Jerry Spinnelli, the character’s real name is Susan Caraway, but she goes by “Stargirl.” She explains this:

“I’m not my name. My name is something I wear, like a shirt. It gets worn. I outgrow it, I change it.”

What name actually fits you best right now? Is your regular one worn out? Pick a new name and explain why that name fits you now.
